Scoville started with a simple idea. Every Tuesday we'd share with our friends the best places we'd been to in the past week. Only awesome places had to be shared. And that's how every Tuesday we'd get a list of awesome places from our friends and plan to visit some of them in the coming days or over the week-end.

We're building the most awesome discovery platform. Every Tuesday we'll feed you with awesome places worth checking out, with personalized recommendations based on the places you've loved and those your friends have recently loved.

* Who is behind Scoville *

Scoville was founded by Gerald Goldstein and Itamar Lesuisse, initially as a side project of Kukunu. The team had built an amazing recommendation engine for travel discovery when they realized this could be used on a daily basis, that travel should start whenever we're at our doorstep.

Gerald, our CTO, has a degree in engineering and a PhD in physics. He has built back end systems for financial services before realizing that life was too short for that and decided to launch Kukunu then Scoville with Itamar. Gerald loves travel, loves the web, loves his wife.

Itamar, our CEO, an engineer too, was a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group before meeting his passion for the web at Amazon. As a product manager, Itamar launched several new product lines then left to Visa Europe where he worked on ePayment. Itamar loves travel, loves the web, loves his wife.

Justin, is our Lead developer. When his mind is not on his native beach of Cape Town, he's crunching code. Prior to Scoville, Justin worked at Tripadvisor and Travellibrary.

Didier, is our front end Ninja.

Scoville has been funded by experienced investors and entrepreneurs including Seedcamp, Xavier Niel and Marc Simoncini.
